A document dated 1513 refers to a chapel at Ross. (Melville also notes that Chapelhill (name at NO 217 212) may derive its name from a nearby chapel).

Field Visit (November 1989)
Melville cites an Instrument of Sasine of 1513 which refers to the chaplainries of 'the Ros' and Polkalk. The site of the chapel of Ross is not known, and the suggestion that, because of its association with the chapel of Polkalk (NO22SW 47), it was attached to Coupar Angus
Abbey (NO23NW 13) is probably eroneous.
Visited by RCAHMS (PC) November 1989.
