Activities

Standing Building Recording (9 March 2021)

NO 22750 27456 A programme of Historic Building Recording works required in advance of alterations to the Former Kennels, Fingask Castle, Rait, Perth PH2 7SA. The works were undertaken by AKD Archaeology on 9th March 2021 through planning application; 20/01605/FLL to ensure a 'Basic level' of record prior to any alterations and any construction works to create a competent record of the historic elements of the building before alteration and any construction works.

Overall the Kennels is in a very good condition as it is presently used as a habitable dwelling and the proposed alterations/changes will continue to improve the structural integrity of the Kennel and

maintain its existence. There have been previous alterations to turn the former Kennels into a dwelling and the core of the structure is visible to be recorded. Along with the map depictions and the previous alteration it was possible to record at least two phases in the Kennels evolution.
