Desk Based Assessment (15 April 2021)

Although attributed to the architect Andrew Heiton, with an associated date of 1884, there is good reason to believe this lodge was not constructed until early in the 20th century. The building is not depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 25-inch map (Perth and Clackmannanshire 1901, Sheet LXIII.6), for which the survey was undertaken in 1899, but it is shown on the 3rd edition of the 1-inch map (Sheet 48 - Perth). Though published in 1908, the revision survey for this edition was carried out in 1904-5, thus indicating that the lodge was built in the period 1900-1904.
