Archaeology Notes

NO02SE 141 0552 2423

The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire, sheet xcvii, 1866) depicts Marlefield steading as incorporating a horsemill powered from a circular horse-engine house. The 2nd edition of the map (Perthshire, sheet xcvii.NE, 1901) indicates that the steading had been remodelled and the engine house removed. The steading is still in use.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 11 January 1996.
