(NN 7825 0140) Archdeacon's Manse (NR) (Site of)

OS 25" map, (1932).

Site of a manse which belonged to the Archdeacon at the time of Prelacy in Dunblane.

Name Book 1863.

A vaulted chamber at NN 7825 0139, measuring 7.0 x 6.5m and about 3.5m high, which had been known to exist for many years was recently reopened and restored as a chapel dedicated in November, 1962.(Information

from Dr Fraser, Scottish Churches Council, Dunblane).

It is not thought to have been a chapel before, but part of the Archdeacon's Manse. (Information from Helen A Lamb, Hon Secretary of Dunblane Cathedral).

Visited by OS (RDL) 10 January 1964.
