NN 668 645 - Situated on the edge of Loch Errochty [Errochty Reservoir: NN66NE 8], near an old farmstead called Ruighe nan Saorach, are the remains of at least thirty shielings, generally oval to rectangular and measuring on average c.5.0m long x 2.5m wide, with walling, c.0.3m high.

A farmstead comprising one roofed building and one enclosure, and one roofed and twenty-four unroofed shieling-huts are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet xxviii). One roofed, fifteen unroofed buildings and an incomplete enclosure attached to a length of wall are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1976).
