This building, now a private dwelling, is identified as a school on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet lxix and Perthshire 1900, sheet lxix SW). Harrison (RCAHMS MS 1155/6, Appendix: Site events) notes that Kiltyrie School was constructed in 1844.
