Archaeology Notes

NN50SE 31.01 5704 0290

Some 20m NE of the two ranges of cottages (NN50SE 31.00) is a cruck-framed building measuring 10.6m, N-S by 4.1m with walls 0.65m in thickness and surviving to gable height. The building has opposed entrances, one of which has been partially blocked and three pairs of cruck-slots measuring c.0.3m in width, which are spaced at approximately 2.8m intervals from the N gable-end. In the S gable-end are the remains of what is probably a fireplace.

Visited by RCAHMS (JS & DE) 15 May 1995.
