Field Visit (2010)

This is an integrated subterranean surge shaft and valve house. Water leaves the tunnel at this point and enters the five pipes which fall downhill from the valve house to the powerhouse below. The valve-house and surge tower are relatively standardised features for this date. Our current research suggests that there is a limited degree of technical innovation.
