Photographed in 2007 as part of a survey of 20th century Defences of Scotland and to enhance and augment the existing holdings of the National Monuments Record Scotland.

An almost circular stone built machine-gun position is situated immediately W of Allt-na-Ruigh cottage and adjacent to the main A82 (T) road. It is built out from a rock outcrop and measures about 2m in diameter.

The wall is at least seven courses high with no loopholes in it.

Field Visit (1996)

Set against the rock face and dug into the ground are the remains of a semi-circular 2WW pill box constructed of mortared stone. Internally it is c2.8m in diameter with walls upstanding to c1.7m [from 1.2m below the ground surface] and c0.25m-c0.45m thick. There is no roof.
