Field Visit (6 June 2001 - 21 February 2003)
This small farmstead of two buildings stands near Cnoc nam Fuimean, Cleadale. The larger building, known as ‘Barrahead View’, measures 10.3m from ENE to WSW by 3.2m transversely within rubble walls 0.8m in thickness and 1.6m in height. Much altered, it contains evidence for 3 entrances and a lintelled drain, and both the floor and walls have been raised. The roof covering is currently of corrugated iron.
A second smaller and roofless building (121) stands 8m to the SW, and may possible have been a cart shed. Both buildings are attached to an enclosure which contains 3 stack stands.
The larger building and another 20m to the NW are depicted roofed on the 1st edition of the OS map (Inverness-shire (Skye) Sheet LXXI, 1879).
