A possible type 22 pillbox has been identified from vertical air photographs (106G Scot/UK 135, 1006-7, flown 30 June 1946) immediately E of the anti-tank ditch. It is situated on the E side of the dune system about 600m SE of Rattray House. Visible on the photographs is a circular barbed wire enclosure surrounding the pillbox. It is not known whether this structure survives today.

(Location indicated on HS Scheduling map as NK 0981 5587). Scheduled as 'Rattray Line, pill box 585m SE of Rattray House... the remains of a well-preserved pill box situated behind a dune system.'
