The Chapel Well is a good spring and is so called from a chapel (NJ91NE 8 - Pre-Reformation Chapel - site of) which stood nearby.

Name Book 1866.

The name refers to a spring in a marshy area.

Visited by OS (EGC) 16 October 1961.

On the date of visit nothing was visible of this spring, the site of which lies in a recently-ploughed field.
