A watching brief was maintained in the grounds of Tolquhon Castle (NJ82NE 1.00) during the removal annd replanting of a tree. c0.7m below the surface large stones (possibly foundations of a building) were uncovered plus a sherd of 16th century pottery.
Observations made are in Grampian Regional Council SMR and NMRS.
