This disused sand-pit is situated within a cultivated field about 230m W of Keith Hall (NJ72SE 41.00). On the date of visit it was inaccessible in a field of barley, but it measures at least 30m in diameter and is largely filled in with field-cleared stones.
The pit is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire, 1869, sheet liv and 1901, sheet liv.NE respectively).
