The Garden House of 1694 (with an incised date 1735 IG) was delightfully restored by Robert Lorimer in 1898. Lorimer was also responsible for the wrought-iron gates between the alternately fluted and rusticated gatepiers of (?)1694 (and had other, more elaborate plans which were never realised).

Taken from "Aberdeenshire: Donside and Strathbogie - An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Ian Shepherd, 2006. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
