Air photography (AAS/94/03/G4/26 and 28-30) has recorded a 'hut circle' on the W slope of Berry Hill.

NMRS, MS/712/21.

NJ 666 252 Outside hilltop enclosure. A late prehistoric hut circle (NMRS NJ62NE 66) with stone wall foundations, 10m in diameter, was excavated. Entrance to W. Small rectangular kerbed annexe to SW. No floor levels survived. Fieldwalking around adjoining flank of hill has revealed several additional wall foundations.

Further excavation at the hut circle (NMRS NJ62NE 66) revealed more detail of the construction. The wall was sectioned to show a very strong structure with clay packing. This would have been capable of carrying the roof weight.
