Archaeology Notes

NJ53SW 72 5459 3017

This disused quarry is situated in woodland close to the foot of the S flank of Knockandy Hill and lies 50m N of the steading of Leith Hall Home Farm (NJ53SW 24). The quarry measures about 20m in diameter and is 6m in depth on the N; it is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire, 1870, sheet xliii and 1901, sheet xliii.NE respectively).
