The gardens are extensive: largely 18th century, with the coped sections, 17th century or earlier - much topiary, including teddy bears, toy soldiers and egg-cups. The fluted gatepiers with wrought-iron work on the axis of the house are mid-18th century. Two sundials, one of 1722. The east gates have four piers capped with urns, 1900; the west gates a former bow-fronted tollhouse, rebuilt from old materials early this century. Rectangular, 17th century doocot with
double rat courses and crowsteps.

Dovecot [NR]
OS 1:2500 map, 1970.
This dovecot is of 17th century date and is rubble-built with a double rat course and stone nesting-boxes. The pitched roof has crow-stepped gables.
NMRS, MS/712/46.
This dovecot is situated on the S side of an ornamental pond 140m SSW of Glenkindie House (NJ41SW 16.00). It is roughly square on plan, measuring 5.5m from E to W by 5.4m transversely overall. The walls, which are 0.9m thick, are constructed of random rubble masonry and there are two rat-ledges. The entrance, midway along the S side, has chamfered sandstone jambs and lintel, but the door, which is probably of relatively recent date, is off its hinges and leans against the S side of the building. The roof is ridged and the crow-stepped gables have moulded skewputts and are crowned with ball finals. Set into the S-facing part of the roof, there is a modern ornamental dormer with flight-holes, and the interior contains at least 780 stone nesting boxes.
