A pillbox has been identified from a RAF WWII air photograph, (106G L/NLA 96, frame no.4110, flown 20 March 1945), in a field to the N of the barracks at Pinefield. The current edition of the OS 1:10000 map, (1984), does not show any structure at this location which would suggest it has been removed.
