Archaeology Notes

c.2183 6928

A type 27 pillbox has been identified from RAF WW II vertical air photographs (NLA 57, 5053-5054, flown 21 February 1943), situated on the S side of the technical area (NJ26NW 50.02).

The pillbox has been removed in subsequent reorganisation of the taxiways for the E-W runway.
