OS 6"map, (1959)
A cist containing calcined bones and ashes was found at a depth of several feet in 1840 (Name Book 1871).
Mackintosh states that a stone cist was found close to the earthwork - NJ25NW 2. It contained fragments of pottery which were in Elgin Museum in 1924. He is presumably referring to this cist.
No further information.
