(NJ 0657 2898) Tobar Ma Luaig (NR)

OS 6"map, (1938)

A spring well, dedicated to St Luac.

Name Book 1871.

Known as Tobar Ma Luaig, this is a holy well of St. Moluag (or Maluag) (Information from Rev A Grant, The Manse, Cromdale, near Grantown-on-Spey) It is a small, natural spring, close to the River Spey, and was, until recently, used by the occupants of the "Boat of Cromdale," as a water supply. It has since silted up, and appears as a damp patch of sand, through which a small trickle of water seeps.

Visited by OS (R B) 8 September 1966.
