NJ01NE 19 NJ 06256 17614.

A disused limekiln is depicted on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972) a 100m NE of Ellon cottage (NJ01NE 24).

Information from RCAHMS (DE) 14 August 1998.

This limekiln is situated in an area of improved grassland 75m NE of the cottage at Ellon (NJ01NE 24). The kiln-pot, which measures 2.2m in diameter by 1m in depth and is choked with rubble, is enclosed within a thick grass-grown bank, except on the SW, where there are is a collapsed draw-hole. The kiln is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet lx).
