See also NH87SW 49.

Shell midden in section, actively eroding. Limpets, periwinkles mostly. Underlies topsoil. Overlies gravel, shells and gravel, sand layers. (Finds from base of erosion among sand and shell on beach). Lovely site, shells in an organic matrix with bits of charcoal and some angular pebbles and cobbles in section on a relict beach with sand and gravel below, all about 2m-2.5m above present sea level. Rapid erosion here, half a building (NH87SW 49) lost in last 100yrs. All the lenses overleaf were dry and crumbly.

CFA/MORA Coastal Assessment Survey 1998.
