Located to the S of the Engine House are four concrete pads about c.30m apart aligned ENE-WSW, each with a holdfast for a UP Rocket for close air defence for the coast battery.

Field Visit (16 March 2019)

This rocket projector battery, comprising four concrete emplacements (NH 81819 68885, NH 81847 68894, NH 81872 68906, NH 81904 68920) spaced between 24m-32m apart and situated immediately N of the crest of the SSE scarp overlooking the Cromarty Firth, formed part of the defences of the battery introduced by the Army during World War 2. Each platform measures 2.12m square and rises at least 0.15m above the ground surface. Their holdfasts measure 1.1m in diameter and comprise 12 bolts with a central duct for a cable.
