Archaeology Notes

NH75NE 7 781 564.

NH 781 564. Air photography has revealed the crop-marks of at least three, and possibly four, ring-ditches in a sloping field about 250m SSE of Kirkton farmhouse.

RCAHMS 1979; visible on RCAHMS air photograph IN 2659: flown 1976.

Air photographs show several ring-ditches in an arable field as marks in cereal crop. The roughly circular ring-ditches measure approximately 6m to 9m across within narrow ditches. There are a number of individual pits in the immediate vicinity of the ring-ditches.

Information from Historic Scotland, June 1992.
