Archaeology Notes

Signal Box [NAT]

OS 6-inch map, Ross-shire and Cromartyshire (Mainland), sheet lxxxviii (surveyed 1873, published 1881).

Not to be confused with (Listed) South Signal Box (NH 55257 58324), for which see NH55NE 23.01.

This signal box presumably controlled both the N entrance to the trackwork system at Dingwall Station (NH55NE 23.00) and the junction of the Lochalsh line (to the N). It is not depicted on the current edition of the OS (GIS) MasterMap, having presumably been demolished.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 17 May 2009.
