Archaeology Notes

NH52SW 8001 c. 517 236

N57 16.7 W4 27.6

NLO: Loch Ness [name centred NH 531 273].

(Classified as F[ishing] V[essel]: no date of loss cited). Unknown: this vessel burnt out near Inverfarigaig Pier, Loch Ness.

(Location of loss cited as N57 17.0 W4 27.33).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Inverfarigaig Pier (NH52SW 14) is at NH 51718 23676, about halway down the SE side of Loch Ness.

In the absence further information, the information adduced by Whittaker is believed to record the survival of the wreck of a vessel, presumably stranded at the edge of the loch.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 13 February 2008.
