Activities

Field Visit (5 September 2021)

This grass grown cracked concrete floor, which is terraced into a NW-facing slope, is situated 18.5m SSE of the road (NG89SW 50). It rectangular on plan and originally comprised two compartments. Gutters at the WSW end suggest one was a lavatory. This measures 4m from NNW to SSE by 3.1m transversely, while the larger compartment to its ENE measures 11.1m from ENE to WSW by 5.2m transversely. The edges of the floor are rebated for timber sill-beams. Paths approaching from the NE suggest that there may have been entrances at both ends of the building.

Visited by HES, Survey and Recording (ATW, AKK), 5 September 2019.
