Archaeology Notes

ND39SW 74 centred 3027 9081

A barrage balloon mooring or anchorage point has been identified from vertical air photographs (visible on RAF LEU/UK 4, pt.1, 7021-7022, flown 1948), in an improved field to the E of the former military camp (ND39SW 69). When the site was visited, the only evidence for the mooring position was a circular earth bank some 20-30m in from the field boundary.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), May 1998.
