Archaeology Notes

ND35SE 103.23 centred 3160 5190

A small 'Z' battery has been identified from WW II RAF vertical air photographs (NLA 57, 5076-5076A, flown 21 February 1943), in an area NW of Hill Avenue. Visible on the photographs are the locations for five small ammunition lockers around a central launch position. All the ammunition lockers and launchers had been removed by the date of the photographs.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), November 2004.
