(NC 8998 0642) Tumuli (NR) (Group of 5)

OS 6" map, Sutherland, 2nd ed., (1909).

See also NC90NW 17.

The mounds lie within an area at one time under crop and are field clearance heaps.

NC 8998 0642 A mound which appears larger than those around it, but the thick gorse which grows on it probably accounts for this appearance.

The mounds extend eastwards into NC 90 06 (see NC90NW 17) and form part of a minor field system.

Visited by OS (E G C), 17 July 1961.

No change since report of 17 July 1961. No cultivation plots are discernible.

Visited by OS (J B), 11 November 1975.
