(NC 5637 1057) Hut Circle (NR)

OS 1:10,000 map (1970)

A hut circle, situated on top of a knoll and formed by an earth and stone bank, measures 11.5 by 9.5m, the bank having maximum exterior

and interior heights of 1.0 and 0.5m respectively. Stone walling is visible on the NE side; the entrance is in the SE side.

Resurveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (EGC) 23 June 1963

This hut measuring 10.0m SE-NW by 8.0m internally, is as described. There are no visible traces of contemporary cultivation in the vicinity. Revised at 1:25,000 and 1:10 000

Visited by OS (JB) 13 August 1976

This hut-circle is set on top of a small knoll, currently within woodland. It measures 8.8m SE-NW by 7.5m across walls of 2m in

thickness and 0.4m in height. The entrance is on the SE. Occasional outer facing stones are visible, especially to the E.
