An extensive system of head-dykes which runs roughly NE-SW from NB 544 626 to NB 490 600 is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 3). It adjoins another system of head-dykes to the SW (NB45NE 60) as well as the head-dyke associated with the farmstead NB56SW 40 and a separate length of head-dyke NB56SW 68. .
Some lengths of head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992).
