Archaeology Notes

HY75NE 7 7717 5504

(HY 7717 5504) A cist was found about 40.0m west of HY75NE 1 at a spot indicated by Mr P K Thomson, The Neven, who recalls his grandfather describing how it was discovered during drain-digging. It contained burnt bones and ashes and was left in situ and re-covered.

Find-spot surveyed at 1/2500.

Field Visit (1999)

A cist is said to have been found here during drain-digging. It apparently contained burnt bone and ashes. It was left in-situ and re-covered with soil. Ref.: RCAHMS (1980), #30.
