Forkneuk Horse Engine House - Forkneuk Steadings

Forkneuk Steadings includes the historic Horse Engine House, or gin gang, built between approx 1795 and 1835. Surrounded by farmland to the west and north, the Steadings are part of the Uphall Conservation Are and form 6 individually owned private domestic residencies whose private grounds cannot be entered. The Horse Engine House is seen here from the west, showing it's six-sided round roof atop six sandstone walls, or pillars.
