This quarry, which is situated in rough peaty moorland immediately N of the junction of the A 968 public road and the minor road leading NW to Westing, measures about 60m from WNW to ESE by 38m transversely. However, it has now been restored and landscaped. Traces of at least three earlier, narrow trench-like quarries emerging from its N are typical of Chromate extraction in the neighbourhood and (amongst other traces) two well-formed grass-grown examples are visible 50m to the W. These measure 13.5m from NNW to SSE (HP 59145 03856) and 8m from N to S (HP 59163 03889) by 2.5m transversely.

Visited by RCAHMS (DCC) 24 April -1 May 2010.
