Barr Mor Huts

This cluster of three small sub-rectangular huts is located on the northeastern slope of Barr Mor hill between the steep edge down to the forest garden and a small boggy hollow. Each of the structures are c. 6m long by 4m wide with low turf banks up to 1m wide and 0.3m high. The one closest to the boggy hollow is aligned perpendicular to the other two which lie further to the north-east close to the break in slope. These structures could be post-medieval shillings although they might also represent the remains of the settlement shown on Roy’s map.
