This modest square classical boathouse with its columned veranda was built as part of ornamental gardens developed by James Fletcher c.1900 to the south of Rosehaugh House. William Flockhart may have been the architect but no documentray evidence has come to light. The building is constructed of a timber frame under a rosemary tiled roof. The roof was originally covered in pantiles. The walls are clad in timber. The chimney stack is built of rubble stone and the four columns appear to be of cast concrete. They are circular for two thirds of their height and change to octagonal in the upper third. The interior retains its fireplace and the timber dado has been restored.
