Aerial photography has recorded traces of former cultivation, including broad and narrow rig-and-furrow, on the S and SW flanks of Suidhe Chatain. The area is depicted under cultivation on two 18th estate maps (Foulis 1758-9), within the farms of Largizean (NS05SE 45) and Branser (NS05SE 27).
