NL58SE 99 55182 84404
There are a pen, two short stretches of bank and three marker cairns on the N tip of Guarsay Beag. The pen (MING03 109 NL 55182 84404) is built against the N face of an outcrop and a bank of boulders extends to the E. The second stretch of bank lies to the S and follows a dog-legged course E and W. The marker cairns (MING03 108 NL 55140 84454, MING03 451 NL 55183 84441, MING03 452 NL 55188 84449) comprise piles of loose stones up to 1m in height, and are clearly visible against the skyline from the sea. Three structures have been previously identified in this area by Branigan and Foster (2000), but their descriptions and locations can not be rationalised with the features located (see sites NL58SE 70, NL58SE 71, NL58SE 77).
