Binny Quarry (sandstone): ' A very large quarry east of the mansion of East Binny (now Binny House, NT07SE 23). The working is of great depth and the stone produced from it is of very fine quality. It is much prized and sent to all parts of the United Kingdom. The average number of hands employed is about 50. It is the property of Mrs Stewart of East Binny and is rented by Mr D Lind, Edinburgh. There is another quarry south of this, also Binny Quarry, but on a different estate'. (See NT07SE 37).
