('Carved Lintel'). Built into Murraythwaite House above the south garden door is a stone on which are carved the initials W.M. and I.G. for William Murray and Jean Grierson, and the date 1660. Above, on a pediment-shaped stone, are two shields bearing arms:- dexter, three stars (Murray); sinister, three quadrangular locks (Grierson).
