Church of Our Lady and St Cumin (RC), 1889, probably by Joseph A. Hansom Church built by Lady Lovat in memory of her husband, bearing strong affinities to Hansom's Catholic church of 1866 at Cannich -also Lovat territory. But here, his treatment of the spare west end, where one corner wraps around the base of a round tower of Irish Revival/Early Christian type, has a stronger, primitive power. Mid-20th-century stained glass by John Duncan of Edinburgh. Presbytery linked at right angles to sacristy, a format favoured by Fairlie.

Taken from "Western Seaboard: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Mary Miers, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
