Lindsay House, 1976, Roberts & Paul

Handsome free-standing sculpture in white marble, stone, riven slate and exposed aggregate panels. (Former burgh) chamber cantilevered out on piloti beneath a pavilion roof, the town's shield proudly displayed on the slate-clad gable. Good extension, 1987, completing the ensemble in crisp blockwork, tall round-headed corner window, similar window facing into the court. Mounded soft landscaping completes.

Taken from "West Lothian: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Stuart Eydmann, Richard Jaques and Charles McKean, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
