Glencairn, which stands at No 15 The Green, is a two-storeyed house looking onto the south side of the village's central square.
The building is faced with blocks of masonry cut into a regular size and shape, a style known as ashlar. It is roofed in slate, and its chimney-stacks are constructed of brick. One of its two entrances features a moulded doorpiece. Both the presence of this doorpiece and the use of ashlar are unusual features for a house on the The Green.
