In use as a bothy from the late 1970s until 2016, this building is first depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire (Skye), sheet clv, 1903) and is also shown as roofed on the 1967 edition of the 1:10,560 map (sheet NG50NW). It lies about 500m W of the 19th century sheep farm now known as Camasunary Lodge (NG51NW 7) and within a large walled enclosure, the interior of which has been extensively cultivated.
