Scope and Content View of drawing room in Gallanach House, Argyll and Bute Gallanach House was erected for Dugald MacDougall of Gallanach in 1814-17 to a design of William Burn (1789-1870). In 1903 the offices were remodelled and a residential wing added to the rear of the main block by Sir John Burnet (1857-1938). Originally the dining room, the drawing room is in the part of the house designed by Burn. It has a curved end wall (left) separating it from the entrance-hall. The door in the end wall is also curved to fit into the wall. To the right is the original marble chimneypiece. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
