Scope and Content Staffin Slip, Inverness-shire This is a long ramped pier built of carefully-squared masonry. Boulders have been piled to the east side to act as a breakwater. There is a small bothy at the shoreward end with beside it a number of boat shelters. This view shows the slip from the south west, with the informal breakwater on the right side of the pier. In the left background is Staffin Island. This pier is unusually long, on account of the gentle slope of the beach on which it is built. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
